Food4All is a yearly film festival that aims to highlight the problems of our broken food system, while at the same time celebrating hopeful and inspiring alternatives. The programme features a selection of thought-provoking documentaries, followed by interactive discussions and Q&A’s with experts. Organised by FIAN, ILEIA, Otherwise, RUW and Boerengroep in cooperation with Movie W.

Tuesday 22/11
Screening of The Kids Menu | 88min | 2016
Joe Cross explores the growing childhood obesity problem, realising there is a lack of knowledge of what healthy foods are and a lack of access to healthy and affordable food. The documentary analyses the influence of negative role models and inspirational programs in action.

After the screening there will be a Q&A with an expert on food and health issues.

Wednesday 23/11
Screening of The Perennial Plate | 2014
Various episodes will be screened during lunch. This documentary series is dedicated to socially responsible and adventurous eating. Chef and Activist, Daniel Klein and Filmmaker Mirra Fine are traveling the world exploring the wonders, complexities and stories behind the ever more connected global food system. During the lunch lecture in Impulse we will screen episodes from Agrentina, Mexico and South Africa that tell the stories of real food and the people who make it.

Screening of Local Food Roots | 35min | 2013
This British documentary is an inspirational immersion in local food culture, with stories that cover the urban, rural, large and small scales. Local Food Roots shows examples of farmers selling directly to the public, local food distribution, community food growing and cooking, local food supply to the public sector, communities supporting local farmers and how local food culture fits in with the challenge of feeding cities.

After the screening there will be a panel discussion; speakers to be announced.

Thursday 24/11
Screening of Just Eat It | 75min | 2014
Filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of food waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge. After catching a glimpse of the billions of dollars of good food that is tossed each year in North America, they pledge to quit grocery shopping and survive only on discarded food. What they find is truly shocking.

Before the start of the film there will be a food waste dinner! After the screening there will be a Q&A and a discussion on such issues.
